MG34 or MG42

Hi

I just got this today, I was told it was either for MG34 or MG42, it all depends on the length of it, the thing is, I don't know for which one of the it is for, the total length is 17 cm. I was also told it was for pulling out defect stuck cartridges from which the buttom has been pulled off, does anybody have an idea for which of them? What would the price be for such an item?
It is marked ghg, eagle WaA010.
