    My New K98

I just picked up this K98 the other day.Was a early Christmas gift from my wife. I'm not a weapons collector but thought I needed one solid K98 for my collection. I think this one fits the bill. What do you folks think?

    Regards Jim

Nice K98. The sling looks like lizzard skin though!

Thanks guys it is a keeper. I think the "lizard skin" sling is original to the rifle at least thats what I'm told.supposedely marked but I haven't pulled it off.

Hey Bill I already issued it to one of the squad members. I think hes going to keep it ha,ha.

                    i'll try to post the K43 today.Jim

That's a nice one! I'd love to own a mid war Mauser made K98 But the sight tunnel is missing. Still a nice one.

At least thats a cheap fix if I wanted to add one. But i'm pretty sure it was missing at the time it was acquired. I'm the third owner. It was obtained from a vet by a collector near Tucson. The vet got it off a German KIA in Italy. A friend in Tombstone bought it and now I own it. As far as I know it hasn't been played with.

At least period pics show that the sight tunnel wasn't always present.

                        regards Jim
