Ok, I have a question. I am under the assumption that all 98k of war manufacture had blued bolts. Is this correct? On a WWII reenactor forum there has been hot debate as to whether or not they were in the white or blued. It was my thought that the white bolts came from GI bring backs. The GI simply polished the blue away. Most WWII reenactor of German units swear the bolt is to be in the white. Help!

When I was searching the forum here I found posts on butt plates and bolt take-down disks in the white, and one post for the bolt to be blued. Are there any othe parts to be in the white?

The reason I ask is because so many 98ks are getting the bolts polished up nice and bright. Granted it is mostly on RCs, but what’s the real truth?

Thanks,
Christopher
