MP40 differences

Hello,

I'm interested in a deac MP40 - old type of conversion. I have several different MP40's to choose from. I would like to know which of the below listed would be the most desirable ? All of them have al matching numbers. Overall condition is about the same on all of them. Are there little differences between the manufactures ? Which would be the one to choose ?

Hi Roc,
As far as i am aware there is not much, if any, difference between the manufacturers.
'ayf' is the code for Erma, Erfurt
'fxo' is the code for Haenal, Suhl
'bnz' is the code for Steyr, Steyr
The numbers are the year of manufacture.
Go for the best condition example and post photos when you recieve it......

Hey,Roc,All of what Steve says is correct,in addition you may want to be aware that early ayf production had flat -unribbed mag houseings, which are scarce apparently,and some were fitted with MP38 type bolt cocking handles w/o the push in safety feature.Since most weapons would have been fitted with this feature an example with the older pattern would be scarce.Good luck and let's see a pic when you purchase.
