My lates purchase. K98, MP40 and FN 1922

    Thought I'd share.
    Arent these some beauties!!!!!
All numbers matches on all weapons (except two of the parts on the MP40) and all are complete with WA markings.

The 98k is marked byf 41 and the MP40 bnz 41.

The 98 looks almost factory new and the MP40 has reently been in a Norwegian museum since the war and are in very good condition too except some corrosion on the thing below the barrel.

I got the 98k for $168, the MP40 for $950. Pretty good deal I say!!!

    Nice Collection

    Hello,

Nice collection. I wish museums were nice enough here in Canada to let go of their pieces. Also $168 for a K98, WOW!

I'm gonna mail the guy I bought it from and ask about the museum so maybe I can get some history of the piece.

98K's go for that amount here. But 98k's left by the germans after 1945 was standard issue in the Norwegian home guard until the 70's so i guess thats why there are so many of them here at those prices. Many of them have 30-06 barrels, but lots in 7,92 also.

Nice acquisitions; I expect you are very happy with these new additions to your collection.

I, too, just acquired an MP-40. My gun is a 100% live, fully functional firearm (properly registered under U.S. law). Interestingly, my MP-40 is also a bnz-41, serial number 9846c.

I think the resting bar under the barrel is made of some sort of "pot" metal, as although mine is not corroding to the extent yours is, it does have slight traces of corrosion that I believe is attributable to the type of metal used.

Just wondering, what is the serial number of your MP-40? Possibly it is close to mine?

I have no history for my gun, other than it was a WWII bring-back by a U.S. soldier.

The 98k and FN are live (and registered) but the MP are a deact unfortunately.. Very har to get licens on auto weapons here. But atleast you can own semi auto and stuff. As long as you have a clean record and are a member of a shooting club. Cant complain really. Lots of countries have much stronger gun laws than we have here.

Alan, my MP is serial number 7570 F.. You are lucky. Would be a dream to own a live one, but I wont have one illegal, so I can only dream of it.
Yes, the bar is very corroded on my. thats the only drawback of it. But as you said, looks like its pretty common.
