Russian Capture / Marks

Can anyone post a clear picture of what an-
Etched Marks or X, look like.

So I understand what it means

As you posted, it looks like the letter "X"...about 1/4" across. On K98ks it's usually stamped either on the top of the receiver ring or on the left-hand side of the receiver ring.

Often the "x" does not get completely stamped, especialy when its stamped on top of the curved reciever. Sometimes it will look like a > or a < where half of the x is missing or lightly stamped.

also i have seen a few russian captures without x's on them at all
