Fn Browning 1922 in german use. Info anyone?

I just bought a nice piece last week. An FN Browning 1922 .32 auto. It looks factury new, all the numbers matches, original holster etc.. I did some target shooting with it this weekend, and after some close examination I noticed it had German markings!!!. That made my day!!!! Anyway, real small markings though, but W&A and the german eagle with Swastika is marked on several of the parts. Even the magazine.

Anyone have any info about this type of pistol in German service??
I assume they maybe captured some arsenals in occupied countries and issued those guns to homeguards or garrison troops sine I gues Lugers and Walters went to the front troops.. ?

Will be greatful for any info!

    Thanks a bunch.

    Fn M1922

There are Luftwaffe marked holsters for this pistol as well...Jan Still's book of Axis Pistols covers this and many other models in German service as well does Major Whittington's book German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945 Vol. I II and III...Hope this helps.. They came in 9mmk and 7.65mm....BILL

German procurement of model 1922 pistols is estimated to be over three hundred and sixty thousand. They are exceptional pistols and greatly underappreciated.

Here is a picture of it. It looks much better in real.. I have a hard time taking photos of guns without getting them to "shine".
Shot about 350 rounds with it already.. No I will let her rest.

            Browning 1922

            Hello,

Nice rig you have there . Especially the holster. Don't find many with that kind. I have been looking for a 1922 holster for 2 years now and I have lost almost all of my hair in the process.

Once again, got to love the capture pistols.

              thanks.
The seller told me the holster was the original one that came with the gun. Its har dot read the stampings inside it though..
I payed $220 for the pistol with holster and two original mags.

I didnt know these holsters was rare. I know a shop here that have tons of old brown holsters. I'll check out what they got and let you know if I find one you are looking for..

They are interesting pieces, I have one I received from a friend my mom worked with...his father brought it back, and he never even knew about it until his mother was sick and she told him it was in the attic. They didn't want it, and he sold it to me.

It is a Model 1922, in 9mmK (.380) with a Crown W mark on the slide, meaning it was a Dutch contract piece, captured by the Germans. His father took it from a Luft aircrewman (don't know if it was a pilot or not). It was in a Luft drop holster, with a tag with his info tied to it, and the capture papers. His father replaced the original grips with clear plastic ones, but luckily the original grips were still with it.

If only it could talk...manufactured in Belgium, issued to the Dutch, captured by the Germans, and then captured by the Americans! Quite a well traveled piece!

One of the best pieces in my collection....
