Thank you Alan, that is very kind. The Dutch Luger - that was more than 25 years ago ... Would you by any change have a picture of the upper part of these 32-round magazines, with the collar and the magazine follower? There appears to be a difference in followers as well. The picture shows the 20 round MP 18,I magazine on the left amd the 32-round MP 28,II magazine on the right.

      Bas,

No - unfortunately the only photos I have of the 32 round MP18 box magazines are the ones you see posted. I may try to track down the seller to make inquiry as to whether he might put me in contact with the buyer. This transaction was 5 years or so ago, so I'm not sure what level of success I may have. I'll certainly update this thread if I am able to obtain any further information on the magazines.

Has anyone seen a loader for the 32 round magazines, as the police manuals indicated the larger capacity magazines required one.

You raise a good point, Joe. I can tell from personal experience that the 20 shot MP18 box mags are fairly easy to hand load to full capacity. Not so with the 32 shot mags: I attempted to load one by hand and gave up as it became really difficult to do. I don't remember the specifics (as I only tried it once, about 7-8 years ago), but I think I maybe (??) got 18 - 20 rounds into the 32 shot mag before I gave up. So, yes - I too would be curious to see what the correct German mag loader looked like.

This picture comes from milsurps.com. I don't know if its against the rules to publish it here, if not I will delete it. It shows the MP 28,II magazine loader which is remarkably similar to the one patented by Mauser in 1917. I have seen some more, but have not yet taken pictures of these.
