    Lugers 101 - Basic Question

    Hi all.

I'm a helmet collector but want to buy a basic WWII issue Luger.

I want one that is not screwed with post-war and not a "parts gun" that was reassembled after the war. Fair condition, don't plan to ever shoot it. Only one mag is needed.

What range of price should I expect to pay.

Anyone have one to sell or trade...

    Thanks much,

    Ty Smith

    Hello Ty,

If you want a vet bring back and not one of the more recent imports look forward to paying in the 600 -800 range depending on condition.

      Ty,

Gary is right. I woudl say expect to pay at least $800 for an all matching fair condition WWII era luger. (and that would be the cheapest one!, expect more $$ for an early one, rare vaiation, or excellent condition one!)

What about the value on an early one with 1918 on top, mismatched numbers, and no original finish? Good solid pistol, but it's been there and done that! (Not a recent import)

WW I pistols are much less sought after than TR pistols. Based on your description I would pay no more than 450 for it.
