MP40 Webbing Sling?

Hi everyone,
Please could someone give me a view on this webbing sling? I bought it several years ago as an MP40 Tropical sling, before I had actually purchased an MP40. There are no markings on it whatsoever. The stitching looks alright to me, but I am no expert and will probably be proved wrong! The material that is stitched to the butt end of the sling, where the adjusting holes are, appears to be suede/thin leather.

There appears to be a lot of German kit made of webbing for use in hot climates, but I have never seen another one of these, either for sale, or in a reference book. Any information would, as always, be gratefully received.

Hi Scott,

I have never seen an MP.40 webbing sling, but i do not like the look of this one.
It seems to be in remarkably good condition, but not made very well, rather shoddy workmanship.
This is just my opinion, not much help - sorry.

I have just the same one but with WaA-marking.
I showed it to some collectors and they think it may be Tchech post war.

Hi Scott, once again I have never seen one of these before in any wartime photos. I would tend to agree with the other members with the post war / Czech theory. Sorry this is not a lot of help..

Never mind. Some you win, some you lose. It almost seemed too good to be true. If these do exist, they must be rarer than hens teeth!!
