    Luger mag. question.

    Hi guys,

I saw a P.08 magazine on a website that was only marked with S/42 on the bottom. No S/N or WaA. I know that S/42 means Mauser but for what was this kind of mag used ? Was it a factory issue ? Replacement ? ... ?

    Thanks & greets,
    Kris

    Kris,
Many of the Russian mags. now for sale have had the numbers etc. buffed off. Don't pay too much for them as they are easy to come by if thats what in fact you are looking at.

A mauser magazine that is marked only S/42 and does not appear to have been buggered with is a great find. They are thought to be replacement magazines or armorer's magazines.

          Hi Kris,

          GWA is correct.
A magazine with just an S/42 mark is a replacement for any S/42 Luger.
It will always have a nickel body, if you find one without a nickel body, it has been messed with.........
