Intersting to see those pics from Yugoslavia,Somalia and elsewhere of MP44's.When i was a lot younger I'd never imagined I'd ever be able to own and shoot one.Twenty years ago there were probably only a handful of MP 44's in New Zealand. Then ,about 1987 an Auckland dealer brought in an undisclosed quantity along with similar numbers of G3's,G1's and M14's.I would suspect he rode piggyback on some UK dealers order. The East German mags were always in the majority of weapons sold locally,so I had to import a few pre '45 ones, as there were feed problems.Pretty quickly those shooters useing DDR Kurz realised the stuff was corrosive , but dies for resizeing brass were unavailable for some years before we could start shooting them again on a regular basis. Now ,you can typically get three reloads from resized 30-06 brass.
