    R/C Lugers

I saw a huge crate of Lugers, and p38's today at a gunshow, i figured that the'y would be petty cheap considering their R'C's but they were all 800-1000! once i saw the price tag i was really surprised. Most were mismatched, the ones for 1000 had a lot of parts matched but not all, now i was thinking about getting one for a shooter but i still think that's a little high for a Luger or p38 could i get one for cheaper? i just want a good barrel

Where was the gun show? I sold an all matching original 40-42code for $900 last week. Shooters should fall below $700 and perhaps $500.

it was in Richmond, i looked around again today, none of them sold but all the other lugers there were all matching examples the kind you dont really want to shoot because it hurts their value

Shooting them does not hurt their value, breaking them does. I shoot almost all of my Lugers at one time or another.

I agree with Gene. I'm sure none of them sold for those prices. Did you go back at the end of the show and see if any were gone. I'm betting not.

It's hard to explain, but some people go to guns shows just to "show off" what they have. They aren't really looking to sell thier stuff, unless they get an astronomical price for it. Sometimes I don't mind this, if it is something really scarce, like a K98 sniper rifle or something like that. But when it's common items like lugers and P38s, then it's just rediculous.

BTW- someone asked what an all matching P38 goes for here in the US?
The answer is $425-$2000+, depending on model, date, and of course condition.
I just picked up a very nice "AC45" all matching, in 97% condition for $500.
