Chance to acquire an Original Napoleonic Wars Jäger rifle

I need your guys help. Many years ago, my father sold an original, either Prussian or Hessian, Jäger Büchse short pattern rifle to a good friend of his, and now I can buy it from him since I have a job. He is offering it for $300 (what my dad sold it for). Is this a good deal? It is a bit rough from use and shows it's age, but is very displayable and all there.
He is also selling a "Potsdam" rifle for the same price. We have come up with the theory that this is original parts, but put together for one of those WWII era propaganda films such as "Fredericus Rex", as it has a serial number on the barrel.
    Are these good prices?
I will make sure to get some photos as soon as I go back to his house.
    Later, and all help appreciated!
    Karl

BTW, after doing a Google search, I found this. It is very similar to the Jägerbüchse in question, although the one pictured is a fake.

I will make sure to get pictures. It had been converted to percussion a long time ago, but one of my dad's friends found an original Napoleonic era lock that fit it, so now it has been a flintlock again for about 30-35 years.
My dad had acquired it from the father of a good friend of his. He had a huge gun collection, and now his son has it all. I will be able to see it all soon. I haev heard it is impressive.
I will talk Tom, the guy selling the gun back to me, and see when I can come and take pics. It is indeed a nice gun, and I am sure you will all like it.
And as with all antiques that are not filthy but have nice patina, I will not clean it.

        Jump on it

        Hello,

Definatly jump on it. If it is a real weapon from that time period, I wouldn't pass on it if I were you. By the way, repro weapons like these can be as much as $1000.

Thanks for the input! I will definately buy it. I will have to sell some stuff on the e-stand to get some money for it.
          Later!
