Importing a deactivated gun to Spain?

    Importing a deactivated gun to Spain?

    I live in Spain and recently I enquired about buying a deactivated ww2 sten gun from a Dealer in Belgium and getting it shipped here.
    He didn't think I would have any problems and an email answer from the Guardia civil police in Spain more or less confirmed this.

    It appears that when such an item arrives, accompanied by it's deactivated certificate, all I have to do is get it registered with mentioned police.

    However, I am unsure about customs and am concerned about;

    1. Having the item impounded
    2. Being arrested

    Can anyone help me out further on this one?

    If it's deactivated in compliance with Spanish laws, no problem, just contact a transport company and custom agent, import it and present at the airport Guardia Civil a copy of the certificate plus photocopy of your D.N.I. plus the normal import documents and youcan withdrawn the weapon, next step is to go to the Intervención de Armas no later than 10 days after the arrive of the weapon, pay a tax (9.76 Euros) and you will receive a new Certificado de Inutilización (remember you must take the weapon with you so it can be inspected by the Interventor)

    Also remember to take a copy of the invoice where clearly will be shown the model and serial number of the gun, this will be the proof of being legally adquired and not a stolen one.

    If this don't work don't worry, Spanish jails are not so hard
