        Out of the ordinary!!

        Bill,
Now THIS is an interesting piece! Would this have been an early century "concealed carry" item?? This little jewel is not even listed in the "Blue Book". Got any history on the company/firearm?/

R, There is not much known on this little pistol..When I found it, it was in a small black holster named to a German officer and brought to the USA by a vet... I would imagine that the Th. Kommer company fell by the way side from competition from WALTHER who's mfg. facility was in the same German town of ZELLA-MEHLIS... BILL

Yes, it was a tough fighting with the big sharks, like the Walther company, but still I managed to get some contracts and make several series of these pistols

Nice pistol Bill, I have a fairly complete history of the Kommer plant but it is buried in storage at the moment. I will post it up when I do. It is very common though for German arms companies to be in the same area(harkens back to the olde guild days) Mauser, HK, and Rheinmetall-Borsig are all in Oberndorf am Neckar for instance. The Kommer fell by the wayside because Walther was a better product and had better marketing.

              Cheers
