I would ask for some better pic's first off. Especially the takedown lever, it looks as though it has been rewelded in the picture.

It certainly appears to have undergone some strong cosmetic reworking, not to mention it seems to be dip-blued. All the small parts(takedown, trigger, mag release, safety lever) should be strawed and, as has been noted, the takedown lever has undergone some severe boogering. It may also have some mixed parts as it is an import. All said though, it is probably a value at $500. A really good G date can probably be had for $1000/1200 in today's market.

This one has definatley been dipped, since all parts are blued. I see no straw parts, which this early luger should have!

Very well could be an import, or it could be a totally re-numbered, and re-done gun?

Your question is "fair price". That's tough to answer, since this guy has a reserve on it, so I don't know what his price is.

If you are looking for an all matching, original finish, non-import, correct "G"-date luger, then this isn't it!

          Hi Chris,

I agree with the others, stay away from this one.
There are much better examples out there...........
          Good luck.

          Steve.

Chris, there was at least one "G" date at the last Chantilly show that could have been had for about $800. If you live in Fairfax, I'd just wait 'til July.
