Hi Adam, I cannot say that I have ever seen one for sale (not that I have looked ) but £45 seems a fair enough price.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Hi there
Mine's exactly the same as yours, except for the maker's mark which is " dhq".Anyway, I bought it in a flea market in France, and I payed 4€ for it.Obviously the seller did not know what he was selling, nor do I, because I realized for the markings that this was genuine german WW2 stuff.I still do not know nowadays what this is for, or how does this work. The only thing I can say I that it is suppossed to be a rare map case accesory and that I have seen only one for sale in the web that was sold for $180.
      Hope this helps.
      Regards

        Adam,
Your price seemed fine for one, 150 quid is way too much and the guy who bought that got done. I've been looking for a cheap one and hope to find a bargain any day now.... Nice Deckungswinkelmesser. See the equipment forum for more pics of them, they come around on ebay every few weeks or so

Hi you got a real bargin there

they are used to get the angle of fire you hold the top brass swinger but to make it hand level then if you look through the glass you will see a load of numbers which is the angle there are also 2 wooden poles to go with it there is an excellent book out on the MG's which tells you all about it.
and yes it does go in the map cas on the right hand pocket
Ade i never looked for one untill a certain someone showed me one at beltring last year and since then been looking for one that man is a bad influence on me
