Nice, matching P38. Matching mag makes it very desirable.

Thanks for the comments. I got it a few years ago at a huge gun auction that had about 30 mint P38s. Got this one at a great price as almost everyone there only bid on the mint ones. This one has a few knicks and a little finish loss, but I still think it’s above 90% finish.

41 and earlier P.38s are not easy to find especially with matched mags. Condition wise there is nothing to apologize for here. This near the top end of what any pistol that was actually carried for 3+ years, much of it in the field will actually look like.

Very nice P-38. The holster is also great. Thanks for posting.

                          Nice set.

What a great combination set and no doubt a shooter to boot! If I may intrude slightly, here's one we made earliar. Not often seen in the UK a matching mag but of course totally ruined with deactivation!

Nice looking pistol! What a shame to ruin it by deactivation.
Even though mine are all live, I don’t fire a matching war time P38 due to their propensity to crack slides especially with original weak springs. I believe the post war P1s have an updated, more robusts slides to address this inherent weakness.

                              Cracked slides.

Yes would be a shame to ruin it, I've read about it and seen the pictures of the broken slides on the P.38 forum. I believe it can also be quite dangerous when they do break. Regards David.
