          Hi Gurtsack,

Quite a bit of work gone into that listing, respect!

Cant give you anything different as My 37 dated fits into your serial range anyway.

          Regards

            Hello Aurélien!

I looked through my old pictures and I found an early Rheinmetall MG34 which is not listed in your data: Rheinmetall MG34 1937 788a

            And "dot" 1945 1887b is a Panzer MG34.

Hello, thanks for the compliment. When we love, we do great things. I save all serial numbers and photos because it allows you to define the variations and the various subcontractors. Can you send me pictures of your machine privately, please.

                Best Regards

And there are also known postwar produced MG34 without the year on the barrel jacket and with the typical Czech inscription with the 0 at the beginning of the serial number below 1000. This was never done by the Germans. A famous German dealer used these postwar MG34 for ww2 MG34 fakes with the codes "cra" and "ce". "ce" ("Sauer & Sohn" never produced MG34, "ce" was used on the K98k and on the MP/StG44).

                    Postwar dot MG34:
                    0392c - acceptance prove removed
                    0404c - with fake "cra 44" marking
                    0591c - with fake "ce 44" marking
                    0620c - with fake "ce 44" marking
                    2294c - with fake "ce 44" marking

I know these kind of guns with the XXI stamp for the "Wehrkreis 21", see here: https://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/for...d.php?t=884910 There are also MG34 without date and code. I saw about 20 pieces which came from the Ukraine about 10 years ago. These MG34 are made of armourers parts and yes there were also main parts as spare parts available. From the MG42 no receivers were available as main parts. So I think these XXI MG34 variants are also made of armourers spare parts , the only difference is the added marking. I´ve got also an interesting MG42 barrel in my collection, converted from a MG34 barrel and with the HZAJt18 stamp. I looked through about 2000 MG42 barrels and I found 3 converted barrels. These are significant heavier than standard MG42 barrels. I think these barrels were built to slow down the firing rate due to the latewar ammo narrow pass.
