    Lee Einfield No1 MkIII Rifle

    Hi again, sorry for sturring up old threads, but im just collecting some info on this rifle, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the maker/production date etc of this rifle or elaborate a bit more on facts about what I have here (if any)

      Missing

      Chris, the safety is missing Try MASTAR of Canada they are on the web.. The DP stands for Drill Purpose.. Hope this helps a little...BILL

        But, drill purpose.. meaning this rifle never saw action and was ONLY used for drill purpose?
        Or might it been used in "action" or at least by a private in service, and then later, maybe post war, where converted to a drill weapon?

          I like your setup Btw the Enfield is a nice shoot rifle, the sight is very good for targeting....

            Drill Purpose meant that it was taken out of front line service to be used for example by a training regiment or company. Perhaps the barrel was worn out, or it could have other problems where they no longer wanted it to issued to combat troops. It also looks like it might be missing a rear trigger guard screw. Another source that you may want to try is (Numrich) Gun Parts Corporation which also has a web site. FP

                      Hello,

                      I have delt with Marstar many times and the best way to deal with them is by Phone. Just a helpful hint since some times they are a little slow to answer emails.
