      The right one is definitely a fake. The left one "DF dd" is hard to tell because the picture quality is really poor. Some more pictures in a better quality would be helpful. A lot of "DF dd" fakes were produced...

          Yes, all 5 DF dd MG42s are remarked Yugo M53s. I´ve got a lot of well known fakes in my database.

            i have an m53 without any mark..peraphs export contract ,no crest,only serial number. no scrubs ,born as is .really hard to find in market .i think some sellers use them .....those are really easy to convert in mg42. obv only to a inexpert buyer

                    This type is really rare, I have observed about ~25 pieces and they had all 4 digit serial numbers. These were all from Yugoslavia and in the origin inventory lists they were all listed as MG42 and not as M53. A lot of the parts were from ww2 but the receivers were all m53 replacement receivers without the typical markings.

                    Another interesting M53 variant is the F-serial number variant without the typical Yugoslavian markings, also on the cover.

                      mine is the F one - no german parts. all yugo - if you have some data of this variant you are welcome

                          It´s hard to tell from this one picture if the MG42 is origin or not. Some pictures from the receiver details would be helpful, see here:

                          I add an old pdf-file. It´s old, so not all data is up to date and it is in German. When I´ve got more time I will update this filoe and translate it.
