Yes - thanks for posting your latest find . . . good stuff!
So, do I understand correctly that all of the holsters had pistols in them . . . for a total of 12+/- pistols? The vet's family, however kept all but 2 pistols, less the holsters and spare mags?
I've seen and/or heard of some crazy stuff (including damage to artifacts) done by vet's families, but this is one of the more "off the wall" stories! I just can't imagine that anyone with even the slightest level of interest in the pistols would not want to keep each pistol together with the holster/spare mag that came together with the pistol as a vet bring-back.
Again, nice find and thanks for sharing it with us!

Alan,
What is crazy this is second time I bought grouping like this with holsters and spare mags. Family also kept the pistols in that case too, and that time I did not buy any pistols. Those pistols were matching mags, which I tried to explain them that I would like to buy those pistols, but they said no. This time I had a chance to check all of the guns before they separated them so I made sure non of them were double matching mags. Most of the other p38’s were 43-44 years, and rest of Lugers were two 37’s, 40,Commerical, ... so I picked the most interesting ones out of the group.
Their answer was they do not need holsters because they will not carry them like that
They are not collectors that is for sure.

That is a frustrating situation there and now the pistols will forever be missing the original holsters that managed to stay with them for 70 plus years, what a shame.
I guess this is why we see so many holsters for sale without the pistols. I've always wondered why vets would just bring back empty holsters. I guess they mostly didn't, just morons ruining history because they are ignorant of it.
