I have no sense of size or scale in these photos. For sure Revolver, 19th century possibly as early as Civil war. Very high quality private made not military contract maybe English as closure, leather and general point in that direction.

Another stab would be French Officer for the 1873 series Revolver as barrel length and frame scale seem close and the construction details could also apply to continental holsters from last quarter of 19th century.

I’m going to change my opinion written above. I have what I think is a better sense of the size and have relooked the photos.

I now tend to think this is for a smaller pistol, likely an automatic like a .32 although lack of spare mag accommodation is odd. Probably dates to WWI and is certainly a private purchase type holster. Belt loop width would have to be measured to see if it would fit on military belt. I have seen a number of civil war and later 19th century holsters very similar but I think this one is later now

Almost looks like an early cap eagle was on the flap at one time.
