ERMA EMP35/Spanish M41/44 Questions

I have a few questions since I recently got an emp35/spanish m41/44 kit, but the barrel is toast, is anyone making replacement barrels?

Second question is; where can I get decent 32 rd mags? I am trying to make a blank fire gun for reenacting, but the only mags I have found are either 20rd, or beat up and pitted for $70+

Also looking for the correct mag pouches and a sling if anyone could poont me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it! This particular firearms is rather a mystery it seems, not alot of information online to be found

Hi

It seems that you have a "Coruña" SMG, manufactured in the mid 40`s. It's caliber is 9mm Largo (9x23) instead of 9mm Pb as the Erma Emp35.

I don't know anyone making new barrels for them, but you might contact "Bergara" company.. maybe they could give you a solution.

You have a La Coruna (Spanish licensed copy of an Erma), dummy made by IMA.
That receiver tube is one of theirs, just a sliced up metal tube, chosen off-size so as not to be used with an original bolt - it should have a piece of metal welded in place inside the false tube.
It's welded up and mutilated so that it cannot easily be converted back to firing anything.
The barrel will be welded closed at the chamber and usually has drill holes beneath it as well.

A less intense project may be to visit the Indianapolis Ordnance website and choose one of their ATF approved BFONG designs.

*German Erma mags are usually 20 rounds, and they will not fit in your dummy La Coruna, which is 9mm long - IMA deactivate and stuff an MP34 mag into their dummies for sales purposes, probably because the original Spanish mags are almost impossible to source. The magazine is too long, if you were to look at pictures of an original SMG.

Pitfighter is right, one of the Indianapolis ordnance BFONG is a much better option. Trying to build yourself a blank smg is an easy way to accidentally built an illegal machinegun if you don’t know what you are doing. Not to mention you will likely spend more than the cost of the Indy Bfong trying to resurrect that dummy you have.

However, I have a machinist friend with a full line precision shop, and I am currently in my 3rd year of my mechanical engineering ba, so I have amble access to solidworks and cad as well as the machines needed to make new parts, i just need a few unmolested parts to get the correct dims. Also, to make sure I’m covered, I work for an FFL/SOT/Manufacturer so I honestly am not worried about anyone. I just want my gun to run blanks.

Firstly, Indianapolis Ordnance has made custom projects for people in the past. I think it’s very likely that they would be willing and able to manufacture a EMP bfong upon request using the parts from your dummy and their own non-gun action.

Secondly, your ability to make parts is not the question & frankly no one is impressed. There’s thousands of people who can do that. The question is if you understand the difference in a BFONG (blank fire only NON-gun) and a machinegun. The parts you are missing are the receiver and bolt, and taking “measurements from unmolested parts (receiver / bolt) to get correct dimensions” is going to mean rebuilding a machinegun - not a blank-fire non-gun. BFONGS have specifically constructed receivers and chambers that comply with ATF guidelines for non-firearms. Among these: a receiver that is not able to accept the bolt/carrier assembly of a machinegun, and a chamber that will not accept a live cartridge and is not readily modifiable to accept such. The Indianapolis Ordnance BFONGS have different internal dimensions to their non-gun receivers, and different new-made bolt/carrier assemblies to go with them. They spent years of research on creating a chamber of multiple components which when permanently affixed to their non-gun receivers is classified as a non-firearm by the atf. In fact they have a patent on it.

Thirdly, in light of Ind Ord’s patent, you can’t just copy it. It would be a violation of the patent and an easy lawsuit for them.

Fourthly, Working for a SOT has no relevance to the discussion either. If you are building a non-gun that shoots blanks, you don’t need an SOT. On the other hand, working for an SOT does not entitle you to accidentally build a yourself a unregistered machinegun that shoots blanks. That is still classified as a machinegun. If you actually do work for an SOT, you should know that any manufacturer is required to keep account of the guns they produce. An SOT doesn’t mean: carelessly build stuff and if it just so happens to violate the NFA, no worries. That’s ridiculous. It should go without saying that a basic comprehension of if you are building a gun or a non-gun is required. Beyond all this is the fact that you are talking about building something for your own personal private use, and that does not even fall under the umbrella of your purported employer’s business licenses.

sooo not sure why you're being so hostile, but firstly I have ZERO desire to use indy ord for anything ever, let alone use their designs . Second I don't give a single flying F*** about impressing anyone, let alone random strangers on an internet forum, my point was to let people know if I could get dimensons I could remake them, and I was not doing a subtly WTB add.
lastly, mr big shot. I wanted to dims from unmolsted parts to figure out original tolerances and sizes since I don't have them and they don't exist, since math is pretty easy, I can figure out from there what would need to be modified, turned down, or altered etc. I know what I'm doing, so kindly, go F*** yourself. I'm making a non-gun with a smaller dim tube and bolt, a bored out piece of bar stock for the barrel with a denial bar, as well as a tapered chamber and threaded muzzle chambered in 5.56 kurz blank.

I came here asking for help, not to be assaulted, but obviously you have the gift of telepathy and know my exact my intentions so this is all a moot point.
