    Etched Bayonet opinion

    Hello

How does this look? Original WW2?
    Thank you

IMO original dress bayonet produced by Carl Eickhorn Solingen during 1936 - 1941 period. with infantry motiff etched on blade.
Byonet frog looks like Argentina bayonet - machete one.

      Thanks
This was purchased directly from a vets family. I forgot to include the photo of the felt in the bayo channel.

Nice looking Eick etch. As mentioned, the frog is not German & incorrect for a KS98 bayonet.

          Thank you for the help
I also thought the frog was wrong, but This is the way the family said he had it. I will ask them if they know if he changed it after the war, or if this is the way he brought it home. Could this frog have been from germany at that time?
          Thank you

Is prewar also mentioned Wz.24 for 1924, possible it was capture by germans, but should be used with combat S84/98 not with dress KS98. b.r.Andy

A nice example of a Eickhorn 3219 etch. I am of the opinion that the frog was swapped out long ago. Since these blades were for parade uses this frog would have been unacceptable for that purpose.
