More close-ups would be more conclusive, but this appears to be a very rare and early piece produced for SA-Gruppe Hessen. Aug Malsch is rated at #10 -- the rarest level -- on the McSARR list.

All looks original to me. The grip does not appear to be "waxed" and I don't see much of a problem even if it has been. The nickel fittings appear to have been polished, especially on the scabbard.
