Heer dagger / Crown on guard

    Hi,

I've a Heer dagger with crown on guard that is pictured in R. Siegert book.
Photo come from my personnal collection.
    Made by Kolping.

I've just find another made by WKC.
We see gold always present. Is it for high rankink Heer officer?
What is the initial on top with the "3"? Not clearly inentifiable for me.

Perhaps it's possible to identify the officer.

    Thanks a lot.

    JC

            Love it!
I have one similar and my understanding is the former owner was royalty. To my understanding by the characteristics of the crown and initials there is a good chance you can find who this belonged to. If you come across someone to do the research please let me know, I would love to research mine.
            Nice dagger!

Maybe not royalty but certainly of the nobility, these are baronial crowns, both of these are what you would expect on a typical Freiherr coronet with 7 pearls as used on their coats of arms.
The term Freiherr closely matches a Baron in Germany.
Unfortunately there is many a baron with those initials.

              JC,
I think the initials on the pommel are SK

Yours is a five pointed crown, a depiction of a crown of this style is for non titled nobility so no chance at all of finding him I'm afraid.
