    New Book On Bulgarian Daggers

FINALLY - this new book on the subject of Bulgarian daggers is coming out very soon, looooong, looooong overdue!
I’ve been told it is in Bulgarian and English language as well!
It is 243 pages, A4 print format, high quality color pictures with great detail on parts, inscriptions and so on.
Haven’t seen it in person yet, but I’ve spoken to the author, who apparently is a well known and very respected edged weapons collector and researcher in Bulgaria.
Now, by researcher and research, I mean (for those of you who handled or have the previous book on the subject, which is by a different author) that is a whole new level, more than just a step up, never accomplished by anyone before in this MINEFIELD of Bulgarian edged weapons pre 1944. No swords, sabers, bayonets or fighting knives are discussed in it, just ALL the period daggers and the knife of the BRANNIK organization.
I’ll share with you the pictures I have, so you can see what I mean by a new level of research and presentation of these “Beauties”.
What I see clear as day, is that this book will wake up lots of fakes and put togethers, peacefully sleeping in our collections

This is a very brief introduction on my part here, but very soon I’ll be back with much more.

Looks like a great reference book Lubo. Can't wait to hear what you really think of it.

Hey guys, just finished the book, no doubt, the best reference on the subject by far, so far Too bad it doesn’t include the so called ersatz daggers, in other words most of the daggers made in between (roughly) 1944 and 1946! I spoke with the author about that and he said that this is “deep waters” for him! He was very cautious describing it all very carefully based on lots of research. Everything else up to 1943 is pretty much covered. Very good comparison shots in between the different makers, also the most dangerous fakes listed after each type with comparison shots again!
The English translation is not as good as I was expecting, but it’s readable. I’ll gladly help you there if you need any help understanding the matter.
I’ve got 4 copies of the book, that I’ll list for sale at the books section.
      Thank You!
