    etched Höller SG

Gentelmen, I got this SG today, and because of the fine and typical Höller etching, I do´t doupt its originality, but I haven´t found the etching on the net.
What is that? Flak? Or maybe artillery? I would say that´s an 8.8 flak...

Thank you very much for your help.

The Holler etch shown could be used for artillery as well as flak personnel. Indeed, the cannon depicted is a 88

Given the probable time period AAA (Flak) I think would be the preferred choice. With Howitzers for the Field Artillery. FP

+1 Chet. This is a special order Nr. ES 102 in Höller's catalog with the Wehrmacht eagle closest to the ricasso replaced with the 88 gun for flak & artillery guys.

The gun pictured in the etching is most probably the Krupp designed 8.8 cm Flugabwehrkanone 18 in a static mount. And they were sometimes used for artillery support missions, as well as for direct fire against enemy tanks etc. Because it was such as versatile weapon it was also used on a number of different platforms through to the end of the war.
