I've never seen this kind of hanger. There is a stamp on the back of the hanger, right? What does it say? Looks interesting.

Dagger looks good. Maybe missing a piece of grip at the top crossguard.

And that is a very interesting hanger.

yes, interesting hanger, I like it! The top cross guard appears to be nickel, so that isn't plating lifting on it, is it? Other than that, nice piece!

A nice daggaer for sure. However, the period custom made hanger turns this into a outstanding rig. - Congrats !

the hanger was a long long time on the dagger but....

is this a custom made hanger or a hanger for an english / or other nations bajonette ???

the back is stamped with "E.E.A."

                Thanks for your opinions gents

That hanger was certainly not made for a SA dagger: it was designed for some kind of bayonet scabbard or hunting knife.
The top buckle is supposed to surround the grip and keep the the bayonet or knife secured in place. The wear also indicates that it was ones used to carry the sidearm it was designed for...
Not sure if it is of German manufacture.
Too bad that the SA scabbard's ring has been cut off to fit into this devise...

                  Best regards,

                  Victorman

                            Good morning
Thanks to the numerous answers. Even after an intensive search, I couldn't find a identical hanger.
If this were a mass production, you would find comparable pieces.
If you take a closer look at the area where the bag sat, you can see very nicely how over the decades the tanning acid from the leather has attacked the material.

                            It remains exciting ...

                            Dear Greetings Walther
