    Naval Dagger

Gentleman, I would like your opinions on this Naval Dagger, Sailing Ship Blade with knot, the last of my naval daggers. What is a fair price for this dagger. Thanks for any opinions and your time, my original receipt for this dagger and knot are included. Ralph

      Hi Ralph.
Unfortunately I have no good news for you again. In my opinion is it a parts dagger as well. The dagger is by WKC, but the grip is by Höller and the Hörster blade is a post-war one.
      Best,
      Oleg.

        Oleg,

Is that the springy copper wire unique to Höller? The grip really is beautiful but a shame.

I agree with Oleg, all brass fittings are WKC and the grip is Holler. The Horster sailing ship blade with etched maker mark is post war, period Horster M38 blades have the fouled anchor etch with early ones having a stamped mark. I would ask for a refund.

Ralph sorry to say Johnson sold me a fake Ss visor cap and I had a hard time to get back my money. I had to take a over priced item an$ pay more money to boot. I personally feel that this and my treatment is nearly criminal. Good luck please keep us posted on what you hear. Thanks again Larry

Unfortunately now someone else will get stuck with it as it surely will be resold.

Here's another one on his site that he knows is no good as he had it returned to him, it has a post war scabbard with the single reverse centre screw, post war white buffer pad, and also a post war Horster sailing ship etched blade, yours for $2.595.00

Yes indeed, Johnson has written over a dozen books on edged weapons of the TR going back to the 1970's. I have several. So have I been reading crap books full of fakes like those he sells on his website?

Or is this like Ulric who writes great reference books, but doesn't practice what he preaches?
