          John John, Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place to ask questions on this dagger.

          I concur with Patrick, Gary and Patrice, this is a fake dagger. Agree that it's a early fake, now considered a 'Bad Fake', as more modern fakes are much better.

          I noticed you posted this same dagger asking the same question regarding originality on a French Militaria site, and all the replies stated that the dagger was 'good'.

          We have here on WAF a rule that to post photos needs to be on WAF server, due to many photos later get deleted and become worthless with 3rd party photo hosting sites. That will require a Associate membership. The fee is $35.00 a year.
          When you consider the quality of knowledgable members here compared to many other sites, you will find that it will be the best $35.00 you can spend for the experienced collectors opinions you get here, which already is evident in this thread.

          Since your new I will leave these photos up and you can decide if Associate Membership is for you.
