    SS Sword - Red Flags?

    I'm not expert of ss swords and I would like to know it's all good. Any red flags?

          Nice, I love it! The only thing that looks a little odd is there seems to be a thick nicotine coating or patina on the hilt except on the ferrule and part of the D guard. Did someone start to clean it?

            It looks to me that the knot strap covered the ferrule for many years. when removed the ferrule looks clean, compared to the surrounding exposed patinated parts of the degen.

              Thanks Serge, that should have been obvious to me and another good sign that makes sense especially if the knot was in the correct tie. Is there a scabbard?
