Chained SS Dagger - Opinions

What do you think about this dagger?
The man i bought it from told me he bought it some years ago from "a collectors guild/germanmilitaria.com" , but he did not have any papers on it.

What jumps out to me is the epoxy around the grip eagle.

What jumps out to me is the epoxy around the grip eagle.

It looks like an oxidation. Because the grip is black it is more visible than on SA dagger grip. The eagle seems to be made of copper.
