    Army with aluminum crossguard

    I owned this for many years but never posted it before. It was acquired from a veterna’s Son and has never been cleaned. All comments welcome.

    IMO, That's not a Aluminum crossguard.

    However, lets wait for other opinions.

        I don't know the exact composition, but it's a Pot Metal type seen on many later War-time Army daggers.

        Our Army dagger experts will give more details.

            Zinc ('pot metal') is what it looks like to me also. The material of choice as the other earlier materials were discontinued due to their being reallocated for military use. FP
