    Army dagger ID please

    Hello,

Just the one picture at the moment I’m afraid. I’ve taken a gamble on this dagger and want to know your opinions.

    Thanks in advance,
    Gozzy

More and better close up pics of all the fittings and maker mark are needed to be able to give an opinion.

From the research I’ve done it’s a slant grip Heer dagger pre 1936, solid brass silver plated. Well at least that’s what I hope it is lol, could turn up and be a nasty repro 😢

The parts that are shown seem to be original but it's not a slant grip Heer. I need better pictures to give you more detailed information about this dagger.

Pommel ferrule and crossguard are generic type B. Scabbard is Carl Eickhorn 1. type.

Generic B is correct but the scabbard is not Carl Eickhorn. It looks a little like Eickhorn but Eickhorn ALWAYS used two flat headed screws on their first (earliest) scabbard type. The scabbard that is shown here has dome headed screws.

Thanks Schlange, here’s a few more pics. Are we happy it’s all legit then? I was a bit concerned as I saw some swirls in the pimples on the scabbard.. everything else seems good though

Those swirls are not always a bad thing.
