    Trench knife, Any information appreciated.

Any opinions or information about this one would be greatly appreciated. In the blade stamps Solingen Germany and on the other side some kind of church.

    Thank you in advance!

Marked Germany for export. Definitely post WW2

      The manufacturer is:
      Carl Schmidt Sohn K.G., Solingen

IMO such knives were manufactured in WWI till the Weimar Republic era.
IMO the hilt was replaced, obviously "era made".

Thank you for your comments guys! I have seen similar examples from WW1 era but the good condition of the piece, especially the wooden parts made me suspicious. Even if the hilt parts have been replaced, who ever did it did good job IMO. The knife feels very solid.

I'd say for export between the wars based on the style and post WW2 would say West Germany not just Germany. Also the scabbard has the WW1 type leather hanger and not the typical steel clip used in WW2.

          Still nice though.
