    Bayonet identification

    Hi all,

I have another bayonet for identification. Any idea what this is? All opinions welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

Looks like Czechoslovakian Brno Zbrojevka made VZ24 bayonet reworked by Germany.

          Thanks Shlange.

The total length is 433 mm, length of the blade is 300 mm.

          Any more opinions?

          Best regards

As stated, it's Czech....The "z" in the double circle on the blade indicates this.....Has German frog.....Bodes

Not a rework IMO, this bayonet is from a secondary factory under the Germans - Československá Povázská Bystrica (plant/factory II) of the now Waffenwerke Brünn A.G. and it appears to be a factory original. Bayonets from them in the early occupation period having full muzzle rings and finished as prewar CZ bayonets. Almost all of the S.24(t) German versions from Bystrica besides no muzzle rings having Waffenamts - every once in a great while one surfaces without any at all. That said, the scabbards will usually have the Waffenamts as from Brno (Waffenwerke Brünn A.G.). The new German manufacturing standard a blued finish as for ordinary German service bayonets. FP

This is a slovakian plant Považská Bystrica WWB production piece S24(t) for germans when there is acceptance on blade, when not so probably a late export pieceor remains of german delivery. The frog looks like mounted later, not heavy use, as this piece is a depot storage piece. b.r.Andy

Z in doble circle is commercial bayonet circa 1941. It is not an unusual bayonet.
