SA dagger, opinions please?

Looks like an early Sa dagger. I’m not familiar with the maker, but blade looks legit. Blade has been polished and is in rough shape. Might as well toss the leather sheath. Grip and guards in decent shape at least. Wouldn’t buy it unless it’s cheap...

Trademark "RK' stand for Koch & Rau. Located in Stuttgart.

Some say this is a distributor. In any case, rare trademark.

i agree, good dagger but with blade in bad condition, i have the same RK in my collection, it is a scarce maker!

RK -- Koch & Rau -- is indeed a rare maker; it rates at #7 on the McSARR list. This piece was part of the original order for new SA daggers placed by SA-Gruppe Sudwest, which was headquartered in Stuttgart...hence that Gruppe used a local cutler to fill their order.

A very nice piece though, as dasboot2011 suggested, the leather sheath does nothing for the piece and is no equivalent to a proper SA scabbard.
