    Unmarked 2nd luft id?

thoughts on this no MM piece, please. looks overall very good with I'm guessing mostly 'generic' parts.

blade tang is stepped but w/o a forge mark. one thing has my antennae up: the subtle cross grain extends down about 4 inches both sides then … stops. I guess runner marks wipes some away from top and bottom flats, but still looks odd.

scabbard is nice, tarnished silver plate, has 2 side domed screws, and a pretty thick top plate with the diamonf cut-out. somehow, tho, silver plate body and aluminum scabbard rings seems sort of unusual to me.

I look forward to wonks' insights!

Last. And what is the strange, regular grind mark series about halfway down blade? Thanks again for all insights.

finally, why do two 'acorns' on the guard top look like owl-eyes?!

Pommel and crossguard looks like E.u.F. Horster Solingen product.
(IMO on eagle eyes has mis-hit stamp during production.)
Scabbard is early WKC Solingen product.

The scabbard is not a WKC one. WKC scabbard bands are easy to spot, the leaf stem is thin and raised and leaves separators look almost parallel and thick. On the photo separators are wavy and leaf stems are thick. The scabbard photo does not show much but it looks like E.Pack scabbard.

I agree with Saar. Scabbard is E. Pack for sure. Crossguard too.
