    Boot Knife?

    Is this a boot knife? I thought boot knives had usually a clip not a leather strap at the top of the sheath? Please let me know I've been looking for one.

        Yes, a private purchased German WWI Armeedolch.
        Sadly the blade is badly slurred, also the rivets of the belt loop are´nt, (IMHO), the original ones ...

        Such pattern Armeedolche, designated as trench knives, showing the "kitchen knife hilt", were made by several manufacturers, for example:

        Ferd. Müller, Münster i.W.;
        Gebr. Dittmar, Heilbronn;
        Jetter & Scherer, Aesculap Werke, Tuttlingen, Württemberg;
        DEMAG, (Deutsche Maschinenfabrik AG, Duisburg);
        Engelswerk;
        Paul Seilheimer, Solingen;
        ERN, Rasiermesserfabrik, Solingen, Wald;
        F.A. NIPPEL;
        OMEGA, Josef Feist, Solingen;
        Köller;
        H. Böker & Co. Solingen,
        Eduard Wüsthof, Dreizackwerk, Solingen;
        DELTA, Hugo Linder, Solingen;
        Leupold, Gefrees;
        Robert Herder, Solingen-Ohligs;
        Daniel Herder, Ohligs Solingen;
        Emil Hermes, Solingen;
        Gebr. Rauh, Gräfrath-Solingen

        There´re also such pattern Armeedolche, only hallmarked with SOLINGEN upon one side of the blade.

        Best regards,
        R.
