    SA Dagger for Review..

Hello gents, had an interesting chat with my boss yesterday about an SA dagger he has that was brought back by a member of his family that served in WW2. He has sent me some photos, all comments welcomed on this one, still has some traces of grease left on the blade from storage.

    Here they are -

Nice original rig. Vertical hanger is a scarce option.

The blade does show the remains of grease & it looks to have preserved the blade well, looks like a nice Klaas RZM. The vertical hanger is definitely a scarcely seen item & very nice to see. The whole rig is very desirable, thanks for sharing it with us.

I haven't seen this one in hand, but from the photos it looks to be a very nice item.. your very welcome. I shall post up more photos if I get some, I honestly didn't know the vertical hangers were so scarcely seen? Would that of been a special order?

Rather than a special order, I believe the vertical hanger was merely an extra cost option the purchaser could buy along with the dagger rather than the typically seen leather strap/cup hanger. SA daggers are sometimes seen with the early type, similar to an SS vertical hanger, with the coffin shaped back piece. These RZM marked examples are also scare, if not rare, in themselves. It's nice to see one paired with a well conditioned RZM dagger.

Oh I see.. I thought it might of had to been ordered or something along those lines. Thanks very much for all your help, is there a data base/web site etc where I can find out about the maker of this? Believe it to be Robert Klaas?

Could I also ask.. what do you think the value of this one would be ?
