    Unknown bayonet

This bayonet recently was found by my colleague here in Lithuania. Please help to identify it. What country? What period? Thanks in advance.

Looks like reworked UK M1888 bayonet.
These type of bayonet was used by Lithuanian army in pre WW2 period.

Thanks for answer but it's Latvian not Lithuanian servicemen in your photo.

Standard handle of M1888 bayonet looks different.

Please also note that there is pin sticking out as part of locking mechanism. Also position of the button is in the middle while on M1888 it's close to one side.

There should be measured the barell ring inner diameter and the locking dimension from back of crossguard to locking nut in pommel, anyway the form of blade could be M1888 shortened? and equiped with new pommel for a new rifle, the high of possition of barell ring on crosspiece is too important. You should ask on russian forum, as there are more possibility ,when the high number is real.br.Andy
better detailed photos with all marking could help too
