(French?) Imperial court sword?

I would like the opinions of the swords specialist about this court sword.

Am I correct that this is a French Imperial Eagle?

The grip is not pearl based, but appears to be made of some horn material...

Any opinion and information about this swords is most welcome.

I would have thought that the blued and fire gilt blades that fell out of favor in Germany and England after the Napoleonic wars (for etching instead as a blade decoration) would have made it earlier. But as a 2nd Empire theme for the hilt that also works. FP

I recently saw a similar one with the same, but heavy silvered hilt and an additional imperial eagle on the pommel.
Any idea's which official would have worn that version?
