Is it legit HJ?

I have one of these in my junk box. I thought it was bad after reading some early treads. I guess it may be real. I don't have any solo photos but hear is a group shot with it on the right side.

First time looking at this thread. Although I can't say whether the maker mark is correct or not, one thing I did notice is that the pictured Puma shows bakelite grip plates with the earlier diamond pattern, something that would seem to coincide with the early date of production. Nice looking knife to me.

Despite the very different motto script (compare "d" and "r" with my pic hereunder) and the larger diamond size, which are clearly visible in the new , more detailed posted pictures, I am now more confident about the authenticity of this HJ-knife.

But note that, it remains very unusual that one and the same maker would have used 2 different motto templates for its HJ-knifes, dating from the same early (1933-35) period.

Kirby thanks for showing us another early Puma without the "Ges. Geschützt " stamp.


Herman, seems the letters d & r on the non "Ges. Geschützt " early Puma hjs are the same, also with the larger looking diamond insignia, just goes to show we can still learn new info
