    Etched Panzer Bayonet

The dagger and etched bayonet came indirectly from a veterans family. Someone I know bought them this morning and them brought them to me.

I have started a separate thread for the dagger. Though you would like to see the bayonet! I think the knot is police and doesn't belong with it.

I collect and deal in British Medals so not things I will be keeping. Are there any rules for posting edge weapons? I live in the UK.

    Cheers Adam

Beautiful bayonet, can we see a few snaps of the knot, personally I have not seen that type before.

                    Gary,

That's a standard Polizei NCO bayonet knot, typically seen on a Polizei seitengewehr. And I agree, beautiful looking bayonet.

                      Looks pretty good to me.

These 3222 Panzer etches are very collectible, although typically priced pretty high.

                      Nice find.

                        Hi Billy
Thanks for the explanation, the ball looks to have brown accents running through it, is that typical?. The ball looks similar to a Professional hunters knot in my opinion.

                          Hi Gary,

Looks like it was originally green & tarnished to a brownish color. The strap is a dead ringer for an NCO knot.

I've seen things tarnish and fade but that looks very brown to me and I would doubt that it was ever green, perhaps Adam could shows a few close up pictures of the knot, I agree the strap is correct for a NCO knot but that Ball is different to anything I have ever seen on a NCO knot. I believe it to be period but would just like to understand the colouring.
