Blade is made by WKC Solingen, but crossguard looks like Alcoso Solingen product?

As far as I know, the only maker that produced the Railway Water Protection Police dagger was Eickhorn. I would only consider a textbook example which would be Eickhorn only.

That said, any example of this dagger that has a non-Eickhorn blade should be scrutinized even heavier than an Eickhorn.

With the general cost of an original RWPP dagger being quite high, I wouldn't consider one without serious provenance. And remember, buy the dagger, not the story.

Scabbard looks to have the swirl pattern too. Not sure if that red flag applies to RB or not but thought I'd throw it out there.

I look at Paul's (Lakeside Trader) dagger and photos and I'm very favorably impressed . But with the thread starter I'm seeing a dull finish grip, a completely out focus pommel etc. etc. and all I want to do is just walk away. FP

Thank you everyone for the wonderful responses. With all the red flags I've decided to walk away from this one but it's is scary how close to the original it is.

And if they can get them this close why cant they get them spot on, or maybe were not as informed as we think we are.
