RFV K98 bayonet

Hello
One of my friends has got this RFV bayonet with this frog which is stamped REV. Why is it stamped REV and what does it mean ?
All the RFV K98 are army bayonets with WaA and sérial number. Does it mean that the RFV is incorporated in the army?

RFV stands for Reichs Finanz Verwaltung (Customs) German Finance Admin. I have some boots with a similar stamp:

S84/98 bayonets destined by RFV or custom were ordered through WaA proof system of Army, so the pieces are confirmed of normal serialed Heer production, about the frog is real someone added there a new stamp which is wrongly stamped? the leather looks like already damaged when it was stamped over. Or the old weakly visible stamp was revived wrongly.What for stamps are there on bayonet? b.r.Andy

I'd say the stamp looks as old as the frog. See the bayo is also stamped.

The bayonet is a matching Hörster 1938

IMO bayonet frog is dress type.

The frog is similar to dress type, but is large and well made, possible repaired as there are different rivets, so the stamp could be real only revived wrongly, for the exact confirmation we would need detailed photos. b.r.Andy
