I only once held an untouched Eickhorn in my hands, so not a real expert but I like the patina on the fittings and I assume you know your stuff and this is a very fine original piece? Is this the Höller variant? I don't know the M7 codes by heart anymore...

          Regards, Wim

I suspect it to be a 1970's repro'. A similar example with the reverse blade etch, for service in the German youth, is shown on page 78 of Frederick J. Stephen's "Reproduction? Recognition!" Vol 2, pub. 1981.

                I agree, a repro.

I have a Horster, I noticed on the blade where the mark is, the flat part of the
blade is considerably narrower than mine. The pommel rays are slightly different
too. the raised portions on the sides of the swastika are a different shape than
the originals. I checked out a photo of a genuine Eickhorn too and it has exactly
the same differences. Good job spotting a fake guys !

I mixed up a few things. It's mm M7/33 and a real Hörster is mm M7/36 Definetly one of the better fakes.

Fake from the 70s. Grip wrap is bad, scabbard leather too thick, pommel is wrong.

RZM M7/33 is the license code for the F.W. Höller firm.
